The event will highlight the deep historical ties between Pakistan and the UN, celebrating the contributions Pakistan has made to the global institution over the decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A \u2018UN Market Place\u2019 will showcase the work of twenty-three UN agencies operating in Pakistan, while a special exhibition will explore the shared history of the UN and Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pakistan stands ready to collaborate with all UN member states: President Zardari<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Asif Ali Zardari says Pakistan stands ready to collaborate with all United Nations member states to achieve a peaceful and prosperous world for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his message on the occasion of the United Nations Day today, he said Pakistan has consistently championed the principles of the UN Charter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asif Ali Zardari said Pakistan has also made invaluable contributions to international peace and security, including by serving as a leading military and police contributor to UN peacekeeping operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The President said the UN Charter&#8217;s vision of universal peace is currently under threat by the blatant violations of its principles in Occupied Palestinian Territory and the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu &amp; Kashmir.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad : The United Nations is commemorating the 79th anniversary of its establishment, which began with the ratification of the UN Charter on October 24, 1945.
