International Partners Drive Pakistan\u2019s Conservation Efforts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Islamabad :- Romina Khursheed Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, highlighted the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination\u2019s longstanding partnership with IUCN. She noted that MoCC&EC and IUCN Pakistan have collaborated on numerous projects, with this partnership playing a key role in shaping the national agenda, as well as local environmental strategies and action plans, to address pressing environmental issues.
She further noted that IUCN has successfully led the consortium for independent third-party monitoring of the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami\/Upscaling Green Pakistan Programme. Alongside IUCN, WWF Pakistan and FAO have also made valuable contributions. The success of this program is a result of the collective efforts of all stakeholders, and the MoCC&EC is looking forward to replicating this approach in the next phase of the Green Pakistan Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IUCN Donor\u2019s Coordination Group Meeting was held in Islamabad, which was attended by the representatives of various donor agencies, bilateral and multilateral donors, embassies and international development partners.
The meeting served as a key platform for presenting innovative project concepts to various international development partners, fostering collaboration and garnering support for essential conservation initiatives.
The success of this meeting underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing global environmental challenges. The commitment and enthusiasm displayed by international development partners signal a positive step towards a more sustainable and resilient future for Pakistan’s ecosystems.
During his welcome address, Mr Mahmood Akhtar Cheema, Country Representative of IUCN Pakistan, presented a comprehensive overview of IUCN Pakistan, accompanied by a presentation on the organization’s accomplishments and its ongoing initiatives, providing the audience with a deeper understanding of IUCN’s impactful work.
Mr Sean Southey, Chair IUCN Commission on Education and Communication made a comprehensive presentation on Nature-based education programme which was followed by Ms Farida Ibrahim, Head of IUCN Private Sector Engagement Programme who provided an overview of IUCN’s private sector engagement strategy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
