Islamabad : The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Pakistan hosted a reception to mark the 33rd Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event brought together distinguished guests, including diplomatic representatives, government officials, and members of the business and academic communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at ceremony, Chief Guest, Federal Minister for Industries & Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, extended congratulations to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its National Day, on behalf of Government and People\u2019s of Pakistan, highlighting the strong friendship between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina symbolizes the strength and resilience of the Bosnian people in their journey towards sovereignty. He emphasized opportunities for increased collaboration in trade, investment, technology and cultural exchanges. The minister reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and wished Bosnia and Herzegovina continued success, peace, and prosperity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emin \u010cohodarevi\u0107, Ambassador of Bosnia & Herzegovina expressed gratitude to the Honorary Consuls of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar for their unwavering support in strengthening bilateral ties. Special acknowledgment was given to Faizan Badar, Secretary of the Federal Tax Administration of Pakistan, for his contributions to fostering cooperation between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on Bosnia and Herzegovina\u2019s journey to independence, Ambassador \u010cohodarevi\u0107 paid tribute to those who defended the country\u2019s sovereignty. He expressed deep appreciation for the support extended by Pakistan during Bosnia and Herzegovina\u2019s struggle for independence and reaffirmed the enduring friendship between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the strong cultural and historical ties, Ambassador \u010cohodarevi\u0107 emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina values Pakistan as a country of rich traditions and warm hospitality. The Ambassador noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina has witnessed steady growth in its relationship with Pakistan over the past three decades. Addressing Bosnia and Herzegovina\u2019s European integration efforts, Ambassador \u010cohodarevi\u0107 reaffirmed the country\u2019s commitment to joining the European Union. He noted the significant progress made, including the granting of EU candidate status in December 2022 and the European Council\u2019s decision to open accession negotiations on March 21, 2024. He also reiterated Bosnia and Herzegovina\u2019s aspirations to become a NATO member, highlighting the country\u2019s contributions to global peacekeeping efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ambassador concluded by acknowledging the challenges facing the international community, including the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.
