Effective legislation: key to ensure rights of labour class: NA Speaker& Deputy Speaker
ISLAMABAD :Honourable Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said the role of labour and working class of society is pivotal for country’s progress and prosperity.He said that the protection of the rights of the labor class is indispensable for the development of the country.He expressed these views on the occasion of International Labor Day, which is celebrated across the world on 1st May to appreciate and acknowledge the role of the working class for betterment of world.
The speaker said that 1st May is a day to acknowledge the sacrifices rendered by workers who sacrificed their lives for their rights. while paying tribute to the services of the working class for the construction and development of the country, he said, ” the world owes its progress to every drop of labourer’s blood.”
The speaker said that Pakistan has always strived to protect the rights of the working class. He also said that he urged the political forces to play their role in effective legislation for the welfare of the working class.He said that the contribution of labour class for development of each socio-economic sector of society demands collective strive for ensuring basic rights to labour class i.e.education, health and ensuring social safety net programmes for labour class. He said that Parliament of Pakistan would continue to formulate legislation for welfare of labour class.
On this occasion, Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah said that labour day reminds us the sacrifices and hardwork of labour class.He also said that the working class is playing an important role in the progress and development. He said that the legislation is key to protect all basic rights of labour class.He expressed the hope that the incumbent government would play its respective role for welfare of working class.
