PTV Enters a New Era of Digital terrestrial Transmission

Islamabad :  Pakistan Television is proud to announce the completion of a Digital Television Terrestrial Pilot Project, marking a significant milestone in its mission to provide superior viewing experiences to its audience.

Three digital TV transmitters have been installed in this phase at RBS Kala Shah Kaku, Murree, and Cherat, which will soon start airing experimental digital terrestrial television transmissions. The transition to digital terrestrial transmission represents a major technological advancement, offering viewers excellent picture and sound quality and a broader range of PTV channels.

Digital terrestrial transmission offers numerous benefits that will transform the way our audience engages with our content. The superior picture and sound quality and the expanded range of PTV channels from one TV transmitter will provide an immersive experience like never before.

An inauguration ceremony was held today to commemorate this achievement. Esteemed guests and dignitaries attended the event, celebrating this significant step forward in broadcasting excellence. On this occasion, Managing Director Mr. Sayyed Mubasher Tauqir Shah expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Government of China and the dedicated team that played a crucial role in this accomplishment. He stated, “PTV has always strived to stay ahead of the curve, embracing innovation to better serve our viewers. With the introduction of digital TV transmission, we have taken a giant leap forward, entering a new era of clarity, reliability, and enhanced viewing experiences for our terrestrial transmission audience. The expertise, resources, and support provided by the Chinese government have been instrumental in making this transition seamless”.
