Islamabad : Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has appealed to the Kashmiri people to observe 5 the August as day of exploitation (Youm e Istehsal).
The DFP leader said that Indian government’s move to abrogate article 370/35-A was a humiliating assault on Kashmiris’ identity and territorial integrity by the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Terming it as deep rooted conspiracy against the Kashmiri people, he said, 5th August goes down in the history of Kashmir as a darkest day when India’s apartheid regime stripped the region of its statehood in brazen violation of the UNSC resolutions.
Referring to settler-colonialism policies of the Indian state, he said, “Enactment of a series of anti-Kashmiri laws such as rebranding of demographics and redrawing of Jammu and Kashmir’s electoral map have instilled a fear of insecurity amongst the Kashmiris”.
These laws, he said, were meant to change the region’s demography and to deprive natives of their resources, jobs, identity, cultural, land and above all the right of self-determination guaranteed to them by no less than the United Nations itself.
Terming these laws as a serious violation of the UN resolutions, Saghar urged the influential world community to take effective notice of India’s settler colonialism drive intended to replace the indigenous population with a new society of settlers in the occupied Kashmir.
He urged the world leaders to influence India to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute peacefully.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, Saghar denounced the brutal killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh by Israel and termed it as worst kind of state terrorism. He said that the brutal killing of Haniyeh was destined to plunge the region deeper into a quagmire of uncertainty and reckless violence.
He said that the missile attack by Israel to eliminate the top Hamas leader amply demonstrate the Zionist regime’s belligerent mindset and its non seriousness in resolving the issue through peaceful means.
Condemning Israel’s barbarism and brutality against the Palestinian people, Saghar said that the Zionist regime has become a potential threat to peace and stability in the Middle East. He urged the world community to shun its policy of indifference towards the Palestinian people and take a unified stand against the apartheid regime to stop bloodbath of innocent civilians in Palestine.
The DFP leader extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of Shaheed Ismail Haniyeh and people of Palestine. “At this moment of immense grief the people of the Indian occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir stand in support and solidarity of the people of Palestinian”, he said, adding that the day was not far off when the struggle and sacrifices of Palestinian people would bear fruits.
Saghar also praised the Hamas leader for his life long struggle against Israel’s settler colonialism and relentless battle to seek complete freedom of Palestine. He said that Hamas leader’s unwavering struggle and sacrifices would serve a beacon of hope for truth seekers and freedom fighters around the world.
