Planning Minister reviews progress of upcoming 13th JCC meeting, Premier visit to China

Directs ministries to complete homework immediately, terms PM’s visit a great “significance

Islamabad: The review of the 13th Joint Corporation Committee (JCC) and the expected visit of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to China was held under the Chairmanship of Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary Planning Ministry, Senior officials of Federal and Provincial representatives were also present at the occasion.

During the meeting, the projects of Energy, Infrastructure, Communication, Board of Investment, Science and Technology, Information Technology and Ministry of Water Resources were reviewed in length.

While presiding the meeting, the Planning Minister said that the expected visit of the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to China is of great importance, which will be done at the invitation of the top leadership of China.

The Minister directed all the ministries to complete their homework immediately and also asked them to make a comprehensive agenda for the 13th JCC.

Furthermore, the Minister direcred all provincial and federal ministries to give three important plans for the Prime Minister’s visit to China, while asked them to make a regular business plan for New Gwadar International Airport.

‘Our aim is not only to build an airport but also to operate it, said, the Minister, while directing the relevant stakeholders to come up with solid plan in the next meeting.

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to provide fool proof security to the Chinese working in Pakistan, while directing the stakeholders to hold regular meeting of Joint working group on Security.
