(Radio Pakistan): Reaffirming their commitment to fostering regional economic cooperation, Pakistan and Uzbekistan

Both Pakistan and Uzbekistan have reaffirmed their intention to actively support interregional connectivity and encourage regional economic integration.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the caretaker prime minister, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the president of Uzbekistan, discussed this at their meeting on the margins of the UNGA’s 78th session in New York.

The two sides discussed how to strengthen their bilateral ties in a variety of fields, including politics, trade, the economy, security, and connectivity.

The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of maintaining the momentum while expressing satisfaction with the rising level of bilateral collaboration over the past few years.

The operationalization of the preferential trade agreement and the transit trade agreement, he emphasized, will increase transit and trade between the two nations.

The Trans-Afghan railway project would be successfully completed on schedule, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment.

He added that regional trade, economic integration, and connectivity will all help to stabilize Afghanistan.

The recent events in the region and issues pertaining to regional security and stability were also discussed by the two parties.
