PNCA hosted captivating calligraphy exhibition, “Mehar-e-Qalam

Islamabad : Pakistan National Council of the Arts hosted a captivating calligraphy exhibition, “Mehar-e-Qalam” in celebration of the auspicious month of Rab-ul-Awal. Mr. Jamal Shah, Minister NH&CD graciously inaugurated the exhibition along with Mr. M. Ayoub Jamali, DG PNCA, artists of the exhibition and art enthusiasts. This exhibition, featuring the extraordinary calligraphers M. Ashraf Heera, Shabbir Zia, M. Jamal Muhsin, Arif Khan, Aslam Dogar and M. Waseem Ashraf Wasi promises to be a visual feast that pays homage to the profound significance of this holy month. A soft opening was organized on Wednesday, 20th September 2023 in which M. Ayoub Jamali DG- PNCA distributed certificate of appreciation to all the partipating artists.
DG- PNCA said that I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Visual Arts team and participants who have put in their hard work and dedication to make this exhibition possible. Your creativity, talent, and commitment to the art of calligraphy are truly commendable, and I am confident that this event will be a resounding success.
To commemorate the Holy month of Rabbi-ul-Awal, PNCA is proud to showcase the masterful works of calligraphy artists who have skilfully woven the words of wisdom and reverence into their art.
This exhibition portrays a stunning array of calligraphic styles. Visitors will have the opportunity to witness the beauty of Arabic calligraphy, explore the fusion of traditional and contemporary elements, and experience the spiritual resonance that each piece embodies.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet the artists, engage in conversations about the significance of calligraphy in Islamic art, and immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Pakistan.
