RDA’s Enforcement Squad Continues Operations Against Illegal Housing Schemes

The Crackdown Against Illegal Housing Societies Will Continue: DG RDA Kinza Murtaza

RAWALPINDI : In compliance with the directives of the Divisional Intelligence Committee, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Task Force is intensifying its operations against illegal housing schemes. Recently, the RDA Enforcement Squad executed significant operations against four illegal housing schemes: Capital Valley, New Airport Town, Banni Mehbob, and Gulshan-e-Bahar, located in Mouzas Katrian, Thalian, and Pilo, Rawalpindi. The operation resulted in the sealing and demolition of site offices, main gates, boundary walls, and billboards of these illegal schemes.
An RDA spokesperson reported that the team also demolished an illegally constructed washroom at Plot No. 522, Phase-II, Gulraiz Housing Scheme, Rawalpindi. Notices had previously been issued to the plot owners, Mr. Ilyas and Muhammad Jamal.
The operation is being supervised by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Muhammad Abdul Aamer Khattak, along with the Director General (DG) RDA, the Additional DG RDA, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi, and the Chief Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi.
DG RDA Kinza Murtaza affirmed that, under the Commissioner’s guidance, the crackdown on illegal housing societies will continue with vigor to prevent fraud and protect citizens from exploitation. She emphasized that public complaints regarding illegal land occupation by housing scheme owners are being taken seriously, and strict actions will be taken against those engaging in forceful land grabs.
The RDA consistently issues press releases to inform the public and advises citizens to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes. The public is encouraged to visit the RDA website (www.rda.gop.pk) and only engage with approved housing schemes.
Despite previous warnings to cease illegal advertisements, bookings, and development activities, the owners of the mentioned housing schemes continued to operate booking offices in violation of regulations.
The joint operation team included officials from the RDA, Police Station Dhamial, and representatives from the District Administration. Key team members included Muhammad Usman Bajwa, Assistant Director Building Control RDA / Incharge Enforcement Squad, Mehwish Naseem, Assistant Director Planning RDA, along with RDA Scheme/Building Inspectors and other team members.
