Kashmir rally calls for right to self-determination

Muzaffarabad: Refugees of Jammu and Kashmir 1989 organized a rally to appeal the United Nations for the implementation of right to self-determination resolutions.

According to details, participants marched from Burhan Wani Chowk to the UN Observer Office in which large number of children, elders and youth participated.

The participants of the rally raised slogans against the Indian illegal military occupation. People participating in the Kashmiri rally carried banners and placards with an appeal to the United Nations for just solution of Kashmir issue.

Speakers on the occasion said that refugees from Occupied Jammu and Kashmir 1989 and citizens of Muzaffarabad rejects the Indian military occupation of the occupied state. 

The speakers demanded the United Nations to take immediate steps for a just solution to the Kashmir issue in accordance with the resolutions passed by the Security Council. 

The speakers declared the Indian military occupation on October 27, 1947 as aggression, the actions of the Indian Lok Sabha on August 5, 2019 and the biased and cruel judgment of the Indian Supreme Court on December 11, 2023 as illegitimate. 

The speakers said that human rights organizations should play their role in abrogation of the worst black laws AFSPA, POTA, TADA, UAPA and PSA in Occupied Kashmir.

They further said that the Kashmiri people reject all tactics and conspiracies of the Bharatiya Janata Party against the Muslim identity.

They said that confiscation of state and civilian lands, destruction of citizens’ properties in Occupied Kashmir are conspiracies of Indian terrorism.

Speakers said that issuing state domiciles, giving jobs and holding high positions of the state to the citizens of India are colonialist strategies of Indian government to change the demography of the state.

They also said that Kashmiri consider the ideological, intellectual and religious affiliation of the Kashmiri people with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan as a blessing of God. 

The speakers thanked the people of Pakistan, the political and religious parties, the government and the armed forces of Pakistan for unwavering support of the Kashmiri people, and said that no power in the world can hate the brotherhood between the Pakistani and Kashmiri people.

The participants of the rally called on the government of Pakistan to act as a party to the Kashmir issue and raise activities on the political and diplomatic front for the independence of the occupied state.

They also paid tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir freedom movement.

Feroz Din, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Abdul Majeed Mir, Riaz Awan, Rangeel Butt, Lal din Awan, Jafar Ul Islam, Asif Makhdoomi, Syed Hamza Shaheen, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Ch Muhammad Ismail, Muzammil Aslam, Muhammad Nadeem, Dr. Muhammad Manzoor, Muhammad Imtiaz Butt, Atif Lone, Abdul Hameed Lone, Siddique Dawood, Maqsood Butt, Muhammad Ijaz, Muhammad Shafi Lone, Qari Shehbaz, Raja Basharat, Bilal Ahmed Farooqui, Iqbal Yaseen, Maqsood Kiani, Sarandaz Mir, Ch Muhammad Shafi, Jahangir Khan, Muhammad Younus Mir, Shaukat Javed Mir, Javed Ahmed Mughal and others.
