India opposed to music? Shubhneet Singh, a Punjabi musician located in Canada, had his concert postponed
Shubhneet Singh, a Punjabi musician living in Canada, expressed his disappointment after his India tour was postponed due to claims that he supported Khalistan. Shubh expressed his profound disappointment at the tour’s postponement in a statement on Instagram. Rapper from Punjab who is well-known for songs like “We Rollin” expressed his excitement for performing in his native nation. Following calls for a social media boycott when Shubh shared a “distorted” map of India on his Instagram account in January, omitting the occupied areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and the Northeastern provinces with the message “Pray for Punjab,” BookMyShow canceled his performance.
Later, the musician removed the map and substituted a statement reading “Pray for Punjab” without a photo. Shubh has denied any wrongdoing and claimed that he just sent the map to Pray for Punjab because he wanted to perform in his native country and there had been reports of internet and energy outages in the state. Virat Kohli, along with cricket teammates KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya, have unfollowed the artist on Instagram since the scandal started, adding insult to injury.
