ISLAMABAD :- Member National Assembly, Anjum Aqeel Khan has said that Youm-e-Takbeer is a day of great significance for Pakistan, the successful nuclear tests conducted on this day not only demonstrated Pakistan’s deterrence capabilities but also secured its sovereignty and defence against external threats. This bold move cemented Pakistan’s position as a responsible nuclear power, committed to maintaining peace and stability in the region. The nation’s spirit of unity and determination in the face of challenges is highlighted through this day, showcasing Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding its national interests and security.
Addressing a ceremony held in connection with the Youm-e-Takbeer here at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday evening he said that Youm-e-Takbeer is not just a day of celebration but a testament to Pakistan’s resilience, determination, and commitment to peace and progress. It is also important to honour the sacrifices and contributions of all those who have played a role in shaping Pakistan’s journey towards excellence and success, he added.
Anjum Aqeel Khan asserted that on this day we have to renew our pledge, especially the youth and women, that they will equip themselves with the latest skills to put the country on the road to progress and prosperity. He added that the incumbent leadership is working day and night to pull the country out of the existing economic crisis by attracting foreign investments especially from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to make it a self-sufficient State.
Member National Assembly Ms. Farrah Akbar while highlighting the significance of the day said that the business community’s support to the government is much needed to make it an economic power after nuclear power. She said that reins of the state are in the hands of sincere and able leadership, therefore, Inshallah, we will be able to come out of the situation for a better future.
Senior businessmen and Secretary General United Business Group Zafar Bakhtawari said that resisting the mounting external pressures, the then prime minister Nawaz Sharif went for the bold decision to test the Pakistani nukes. It was the day when Pakistan showed its strength to the whole world and attained the honor of being the only nuclear power in the Islamic world. There are certain moments in the life of nations when a decision changes their destiny and May 28 was the day for Pakistan, he added.
He paid rich tributes to all the personalities who played a vital role in making the country a nuclear including late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutt, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, Mian Nawaz Sharif and other by asserting that we have to keep in our mind the fact that whenever our country starts journey towards progress some unpleasant incidents take place and the journey stops and the same thing happened with the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who was compelled to go into exile for almost ten years.
He added that it is incumbent upon us to stand with the sitting government by ignoring all the political differences and renewing our pledge to make Pakistan a great country in real sense.
ICCI Executive member Akhtar Abbasi, Group leader Blue Area Yousuf Rajput, former Senior Vice President Jamshaid Akhtar Shaikh in their speeches also paid rich tributes to the national heroes for their struggles to attain the pride.
ICCI Executive member Rizwana Chheena presented the vote of thanks by asserting that an environment for ease of doing business is the need of the hour and the government must extend the required facilities to the business community.
