Bahrain — In a thrilling finale of the AVC Challenger Cup 2024, the Pakistan Senior Men’s Volleyball Team faced
Qatar. Despite a strong effort, Pakistan was defeated by Qatar in a 3-0 match, with set scores of 22-25, 20-25, and
19-25. Pakistan’s commendable performance throughout the tournament secured them the second position and a
Silver Medal, marking a significant achievement for the team and the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF).
Key highlights from the tournament include standout performances by Pakistani players, who received individual
awards:
Musawer Khan: Best Middle Blocker
Nasir Ali: Best Libero
Murad Khan: Best Opposite Hitter
These awards highlight the exceptional talent and hard work of the players, contributing to Pakistan’s overall success
in the competition.
The PVF extends its heartfelt gratitude to the local Pakistani community in Bahrain for their unwavering support and
enthusiasm throughout the tournament. The presence of Mr. Saqib, Ambassador of Pakistan to Bahrain, at the final
match was a significant morale booster for the team, reflecting the strong support from the diplomatic mission.
Simultaneously, in the CAVA U-18 Volleyball Championship, the Pakistan U-18 Men’s Volleyball Team achieved a
resounding victory against Tajikistan with a 3-0 win, with set scores of 25-11, 25-10, and 25-06. This victory has
propelled the junior team to the finals of the championship.
The final match will be against Iran on 10th June 2024 at
4:30 PM Pakistani Time.
