Federal Govt Decides Fate of PWD Employees Amid Institution’s Closure

Sukkur, – The Establishment Division has issued a decision regarding the future of Pakistan PWD employees after the Federal Government’s closure of the institution. Civil servant employees will be transferred to the surplus pool and later adjusted in other federal government departments under the Civil Servants Act, 1973.

The Ministry of Housing and Construction had sought guidance on the fate of PWD employees, with 6,610 workers currently employed out of approved vacancies of 7,845. The Establishment Division’s opinion aims to ensure the employees’ future security.

Non-civil servant employees will be dealt with according to their roles, while contract employees’ fate will be decided based on their contracts. The Ministry of Housing, Planning, and Development, Law Finance, and the Auditor General’s Office were consulted in the decision-making process.

This development brings clarity to the uncertainty surrounding PWD employees’ future, offering a glimmer of hope for their career prospects.
