PARIS: The Paris Olympics already have one gold medal secured ahead of the start, with 8.6 million tickets sold – a record for any Games.
“We are at 8.6 million tickets for the Olympics and over one million for the Paralympics,” he said.
Paris organizers expect the total number of participants to rise to 10 million for the sporting extravaganza, which runs from July 26 to August 11, with another 3.4 million.
