Billie Jean King Cup Asia, Oceania Group II

Kuala Lumpur :-  The Billie Jean King Cup Group II Asia/Oceania competition kicked off with a bang  at the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Eleven nations are vying for promotion in this fierce battle on the hard courts of the National Tennis Centre.

Day one saw dominant performances from several teams. In pool A Indonesia stormed to a 3-0 victory over Iran, with Fitriani Sabatini and Jessey Rompies clinching singles wins before Mischka Sinclair and Beatrice Gumulya sealed the deal in doubles.

In Pool B Mongolia also made a strong start, defeating Pakistan 3-0 thanks to straight-set wins from Marta Chogsomjav in both singles and doubles.

Hong Kong, China, showed their strength with a 3-0 win over Singapore, with Ho Ching Wo and Eudice Chong leading the charge in singles.

Pool C saw host nation Malaysia overcame a tough challenge from Kyrgyzstan, securing a 2-1 win with singles victories from Jo Leen Saw and Elsa Wan.

Uzbekistan completed the day’s action with a dominant 3-0 win over Sri Lanka, with Sabrina Olimajanova and Daria Shubina winning in singles and the doubles pair of Maftunabonu Kahramanova and Shahnoza Marimova sealing the tie.
