
Islamabad(News Desk): Dr. Kausar Abdullah Malik, the Caretaker Minister for National Food Security and Research, has reached out to the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) seeking assistance in enhancing the skills and expertise of Pakistani professionals involved in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries.
This request was made during a meeting held in Islamabad between Dr. Kausar Abdullah Malik and Ms. Florence Rolle, the FAO representative for Pakistan.
Dr. Kausar Malik expressed his appreciation for the ongoing collaboration between the FAO and Pakistan aimed at addressing food security challenges and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. He noted that this partnership has been highly beneficial.
The FAO representative, Ms. Florence Rolle, assured her organization’s support for initiatives aimed at fostering innovation, bringing about change, and introducing digital advancements within the agricultural sector and food systems of Pakistan.
Furthermore, to meet the growing domestic demand for soybean production, the FAO pledged to assist the Ministry of National Health Services in increasing soybean output. This commitment underscores the importance of enhancing food production in Pakistan to meet the nation’s dietary requirements.
