Kazakh Businessmen in B2B Talks with Pakistani Companies to Boost Trade

Karachi – The second international food and agriculture exhibition, “FoodAg-2024,” was held in the financial capital of Pakistan.
At the invitation of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, a delegation from Kazakhstan attended the event, comprised of entrepreneurs from the agriculture, beverage production, logistics, trade, and catering sectors, as well as representatives from the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan.

The exhibition featured leading Pakistani manufacturers of agricultural and food products, along with logistics companies. The Kazakh delegation had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the products, technologies, and services on display.
The delegates participated in seminars addressing key issues related to the international certification of goods, customs regulation, logistics and regional interconnectedness, dairy production, as well as opportunities in aquaculture and horticulture.

Kazakh businessmen engaged in B2B negotiations with Pakistani companies to establish mutual trade cooperation and the potential for joint projects.
Furthermore, representatives of the Kazakh delegation, together with the co-chairman of the Kazakh-Pakistani Business Council, Mr. Mehmood ul Hassan Awan, visited the modern container terminal at the Karachi seaport, “Karachi Gateway Terminal Limited.” They discussed with company representatives the prospects of utilizing the capabilities of seaport.
Later, the delegates took part in an interactive session organized by the National Logistics Cell, the largest state-owned logistics company in Pakistan, where they were briefed on the company’s capabilities and the available transport and logistics routes.
According to the members of the Kazakh delegation, Pakistani products are of great interest to their region and could be in high demand among consumers.
As is well known, the agricultural sector of Pakistan contributes approximately 24% of the country’s GDP and provides 37% of employment. Pakistan is a leading exporter of mangoes, rice, guava, dates, citrus fruits, potatoes, and other produce.
