Kyiv :- The second day of the meeting of the heads of foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine 2024 was held in Kyiv
Ukraine The main topics of discussion were parliamentary diplomacy, bringing Russia to international responsibility, protection of human rights, return of deported Ukrainian children, release of prisoners of war and political prisoners, as well as strengthening security and defense.
Minister Dmytro Kuleba opened the second day of the meeting of ambassadors, thanking the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk for his valuable contribution to achieving the foreign policy goals of Ukraine.
Ruslan Stefanchuk noted the intensification of Ukraine’s interparliamentary interaction with other countries, stressing the importance of its further expansion, especially with regard to countries of the Global South and regional cooperation.
The topic of holding Russia and its military-political leadership to accountability, restoration of justice and compensation for damages were discussed with the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin and Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Mudra.
The issue of protection of the rights of citizens of Ukraine were highlighted in the speech of the Verkhovna Rada on human rights by Dmitry Lubincets.
There was also a separate session with the participation of the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, focused on the actual needs of the security and defense sector.
Advisor – Plenipotentiary of the President of Ukraine for the Rights of the Child and Child Rehabilitation Darya Gerasimchuk and Secretary of the Coordination Staff for the Handling of Prisoners of War Dmitry Usov discussed the protection of the rights and return of Ukrainian children, the release of prisoners of war and civilian hostages.
There was an exchange of views with the heads of intelligence agencies: Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Oleg Ivashchenko, Head of the GUR MO Kiryl Budanov and First Deputy Chairman of the SBU Sergiy Andrushchenko.
