Karachi : Muslim Hands Karachi, in collaboration with the University of Karachi’s Landscape and Gardening Council, has officially launched the Plant for Pakistan campaign, focusing on planting fruit trees on university grounds.
Under the guidance of the Vice Chancellor and with the active involvement of the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) and the PM Green Youth Movement, this initiative ensures sustainable tree care and continuous plantation efforts.
Teachers, students, and notable university guests participated in the first phase, successfully planting a variety of fruit trees. This program, part of a broader national climate action movement, is a commitment to environmental sustainability and food security.
By addressing critical issues like poverty alleviation (SDG 1), ending hunger (SDG 2), and combatting climate change (SDG 13) through partnerships (SDG 17), the initiative seeks to make a lasting impact on local communities, while enhancing green spaces and promoting ecological balance on campus.
