Islamabad : Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights, Azam Nazir Tarar has announced that the National Commission for the Rights of Minorities will soon be established.
Addressing the Christmas celebration event in Islamabad, the Minister said the draft of the commission has been formulated in consultation with minority representatives from Parliament and civil society and approved by the cabinet committee.
He said the government wants to make the commission more independent which will serve an effective platform for addressing grievances and promoting inclusivity.
He said we have ensured a balanced representation of all minorities and non-minorities in Pakistan.
He said, the Constitution of Pakistan clearly states that Pakistan belongs to all of us while our identity and pride lie in being Pakistanis.
The minister also expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine.
