Pro-Khalistan Sikhs staged a rally at the Indian High Commission in London, demanding the removal of Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami. They expressed their support for Canada and protested against what they perceived as India’s interference in pro-Khalistan activities in the United Kingdom (UK), Canada, and other countries.
During the demonstration, protesters called for the closure of Indian Missions and the expulsion of High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami. They also pledged to continue their activism in support of the Sikh right to self-determination through the global Khalistan Referendum campaign.
The demonstrators carried posters of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was tragically killed in July by Indian state agents on Canadian soil. Nijjar was a key figure in the Khalistan Referendum campaign in Canada and a close associate of UK-based Paramjeet Singh Pamma, the UK-EU Coordinator of the Khalistan Referendum.
Paramjeet Singh Pamma explained the decision to prevent Doraiswami’s entry into Glasgow Gurdwara Sahib, stating that the Sikh community collectively decided to restrict access to Indian agents who are suspected of spying on Sikhs and propagating falsehoods created by the Indian government.
The protesters accused India of assassinating Hardeep Singh Nijjar and pro-Khalistan activist Avtar Singh Khanda, both of whom were associated with the Khalistan Referendum campaign.
Sikh demonstrators called on the international community to take action against India’s alleged acts of terrorism and expressed concerns about the safety of Sikh community members. They emphasized that Sikhs worldwide remain committed to the Khalistan movement despite the challenges and sacrifices.
The protesters also urged the UK not to overlook the suffering of Sikhs in pursuit of a trade deal with India and applauded Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for shedding light on India’s alleged involvement in terrorism on the global stage.
