RDA Enforcement Squad Demolishes Illegal Constructions, Removes Encroachments, and Seals 20 Commercial Properties on High Court Road Following DG RDA’s Directives

RAWALPINDI : In a decisive move to enhance traffic flow and maintain public safety, encroachments along High Court Road to Car Chowk were removed, illegal constructions demolished, and 20 commercial buildings sealed. This action was carried out following the directives of the Director General (DG) of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, an RDA spokesperson reported.
The operation, executed by the RDA Enforcement Squad, included key personnel such as Director Land RDA, Ghazanfar Ali Awan, Building Inspector Muhammad Bilal, Building Surveyor Malik Aamir Mahmood, and other RDA officials, with the support of Police from Old Airport Police Station, Rawalpindi. The operation’s goal was to restore order, enhance road accessibility, and ensure a safer environment for both pedestrians and commuters.
The team conducted a thorough clearance operation targeting unauthorized structures, vendors, and street installations that had been obstructing traffic and posing a serious threat to public safety. With support from local law enforcement, the RDA’s initiative received positive feedback from the public, who have long voiced concerns about the growing encroachments in the area.
“This operation is part of our ongoing initiative to revitalize the city’s infrastructure and ensure that all roads remain clear and safe for the public,” said Ms. Kinza Murtaza, DG of RDA. “Encroachments not only contribute to traffic congestion but also pose significant risks to the safety of our citizens. The RDA remains dedicated to maintaining the integrity of Rawalpindi’s urban spaces.”
The targeted action focused on illegal constructions along High Court Road, including unauthorized shops and street vendors, which had caused traffic bottlenecks and compromised the area’s overall accessibility. Local authorities emphasized that the removal of these encroachments would significantly improve traffic flow and contribute to a cleaner, more organized urban environment.
Looking ahead, the RDA plans to expand its efforts to other major roads across Rawalpindi as part of a comprehensive urban planning strategy aimed at optimizing the city’s infrastructure. These initiatives will help ensure better traffic management and improve the experience for residents and visitors alike.
The public is encouraged to cooperate with authorities in preserving encroachment-free zones, ensuring that Rawalpindi’s streets remain safe, accessible, and welcoming for all.
