Swat inauguration of its first-ever Women’s Cricket League

SWAT: In a groundbreaking development, Swat District witnessed the inauguration of its first-ever Women’s Cricket League, showcasing the region’s commitment to promoting gender equality and fostering talent among women.
Twenty-seven talented women cricketers from different corners of Swat District have come together to participate in this inaugural league. Their enthusiasm and dedication have already made this event a resounding success.
Women cricketers participating in the league have hailed it as a positive beginning, expressing hope that such tournaments will open up new avenues for women in cricket.
The influence of these women extends far beyond sports, positively impacting communities and societies worldwide. As women’s cricket gains more prominence, the future appears exceptionally promising. Increased support, investment, and opportunities are expected to pave the way for women cricketers to achieve even more significant milestones.

In the inaugural match of the Women’s Cricket League, the Mingora-eleven cricket team triumphed over Kabal eleven, clinching a thrilling seven-runs victory. Mingora eleven batted first and posted 129 runs in their allotted ten overs, with Manahil scoring an impressive 76 runs and Mahwish contributing 28 runs. In response, Kabal eleven scored 96 runs but fell short of victory.

Several notable figures attended the match, including Assistant Commissioner Revenue Babuzi Luqman Khan, Assistant Commissioner Kabal Junaid Khan, and Taekwondo International gold medalist Ayesha Ayaz and others also graced the occasion, distributing trophies, certificates, and cash prizes among the players.
Ayaz Naik, the organizer of the match, expressed his gratitude to the district administration and organizers, hoping for continued support in promoting sports and providing more opportunities for talented athletes.
