India secures Champions Trophy title for a record third time

Dubai :  India has secured its third ICC Champions Trophy title, defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Batting first after winning the toss, the Kiwis managed to put up a total of 251 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

In reply, India achieved target in 49 overs for loss of six wickets.

This marks India’s third Champions Trophy title, making them the most successful team in the tournament’s history, having previously won in 2002 and 2013.
