Islamabad: “The Muslim League-N government has previously launched several significant educational initiatives to provide higher education facilities to the youth of Balochistan,” said Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Reforms, Ahsan Iqbal, while addressing a meeting of the Central Development Working Party. He stressed the need to fully inform the people of Balochistan about these projects to thwart the conspiracies of terrorist groups operating in the region.
The federal minister further noted that between 2013 and 2018, the Muslim League-N government provided 5,000 scholarships for Balochistan students to attend the country’s top universities. Additionally, during the PDM government’s tenure, another 5,000 scholarships were awarded in Phase Two. He directed the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to urgently devise a comprehensive and effective strategy to ensure educational and developmental opportunities for Balochistan’s youth, enabling them to contribute to a strong and stable Pakistan.
Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the importance of engaging young people in positive curricular and extracurricular activities while providing them with higher education opportunities. In this regard, he instructed university vice-chancellors to eliminate regional cliques in universities by accommodating students from diverse areas together in hostels, fostering unity among them.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to the betterment of the youth and their bright future, pledging to take all possible measures to integrate them into the national mainstream through educational and developmental initiatives.
