Khalid Naeem, a member of the National Commission on the Rights of Children, urged various stakeholders, including government, media, and private organizations, to take action in combatting child abuse and safeguarding girls’ rights within institutional and non-institutional sectors. On the occasion of the International Day of the Girl, he stressed the importance of raising awareness about girls’ rights, advocating for their education, healthcare, equal rights, and safety. The International Day of the Girl, celebrated on October 11, focuses on addressing the challenges girls face and promoting their empowerment and human rights. The theme for 2023 is “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being.” Khalid Naeem highlighted the need for a safe, educated, and healthy life for girls and the prevention of child labor and child marriage. He emphasized that protecting girls’ rights is crucial for the progress of society and called for human rights organizations to provide orientation and capacity-building training for students to ensure the protection of girls’ fundamental human rights.
