S&P may upgrade Pakistan’s credit rating amid positive momentum, FM

Finance Minister meets S&P Global team

Washington D.C : Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, held a meeting with the team of S&P Global.

The Minister welcomed the upcoming visit of the S&P Global team to Pakistan later this month and briefed them on the country’s macroeconomic outlook, fiscal consolidation measures, and key growth drivers.

He highlighted that the recent upgrade of Pakistan’s credit rating to B- by Fitch Ratings was an external validation of the Government’s structural reform agenda and a testimony to the growing confidence of investors in Pakistan’s economy.

The Minister expressed hope that S&P Global would also consider upgrading Pakistan’s credit ratings in line with this positive momentum.
