
Arab leaders gathered at a Cairo Peace Summit and strongly voiced their condemnation of Israel’s continuous two-week-long bombardment of Gaza. They collectively urged the international community to renew efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive Middle East peace settlement to bring an end to the violence perpetrated by Israeli forces.
Jordan’s King Abdullah, addressing the summit, expressed his dismay at the global silence surrounding Israel’s attacks on Gaza and called for a balanced approach to resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas vehemently declared that Palestinians would not be displaced or forced from their land. He criticized Israel’s military operations, highlighting their devastating impact on Gaza’s civilian population. Abbas reiterated that the two-state solution remains the only viable path to address the ongoing crisis.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi emphasized that justice and the establishment of an independent state are the key to resolving the Palestinian issue. He rejected displacement as a solution and stressed the importance of seeking justice for the Palestinian people.
