On both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and across the globe, Kashmiris are observing Kashmir Black Day today, marking the day when India illegally occupied their homeland on October 27, 1947.
This somber occasion is a reminder of the events of October 27, 1947, when Indian forces, in clear violation of the Subcontinent’s Partition Plan, militarily invaded Jammu and Kashmir, against the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
The day will witness a complete shutdown in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with protest marches, rallies, and seminars taking place across the world, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir. These gatherings serve to condemn not only the invasion by the Indian Army on October 27, 1947, but also the controversial revocation of the special status of occupied Kashmir by the government led by Prime Minister Modi on August 5, 2019.
