
WANA: an Alliance meeting was conducted at DC Jirga hall Wana under the chairmanship and supervision of Deputy Commissioner Mr. Nasir khan. The event was participated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kashmir Khan Sherani, AAC Mr. Inam Ullah Khan, Tehsil Mayor Wana Moulana Saleh Wazir, Tehsildars, political Mohrirs, Deputy DHO Dr Hidayat, Dr Shahid from DEOC, Mr. Hussain Ali Awan Deputy Provincial Manager and police department.The objective of the event was to sensitize the Tehsildars/political Mohrirs about the demand based refusal coverage and to engage the boycotted communities during the polio NID commencing from November 20, 2023.The event was started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Tehsil Mayor wana Moulana Saleh Wazir and he welcomed all the participants in his opening remarks. The Dr. Shahid, district polio focal person, addressed the forum by highlighting the importance of routine immunization and polio vaccination for every child.He also presented the polio prevailing situation at Pakistan and South KP. He further requested that collective efforts are required to ensure that every child is vaccinated in the upcoming NID.Hussain Ali Awan Deputy Provincial Manager-PCE also addressed the forum and highlighted the objective of the event and explained that tehsil alliances are established at all Tehsils of South Waziristan Lower under the supervision of District Adminstration. The respective Tehsildars and Political Mohrirs will further use those tribal Maliks, if any boycott is reported from their respective tehsils.This approach and strategy will enable the district administration to engage boycotted communities simultaneously and if the district administration support is required that will be provided in a timely manner. The Deputy Commissioner Mr. Nasir Khan offered the concluding remarks.He appreciated the efforts of the revenue department in successful implementation of polio campaigns at SWL. He further added that his office’s doors are open for everyone. He emphasized that a good working relationship must be established by the revenue staff with the tribal elders and Malik’s in their respective tehsils for boycotts engement. He requested the participants to extend their full support and facilitation to ensure that every child has been reached and vaccinated. He further added the collective efforts that will be required for polio eradication from our country. He emphasized the forum to mobilize the tribal elders and community to the link their demands from polio vaccination because polio vaccination is the basic right of every child, at the end all the participants were served with lunch.
