Climate change is not just an environmental but human issue also, Speakers

Islamabad : Pakistan National Council of the Arts, in collaboration with CPCD, Islamabad, present “Climate Change Challenges” Arts, Crafts & Techno Exposition. It is a collaborative Project with the Centre for Public Cultural Diplomacy and Pakistan National Council of Arts, Islamabad, in support of fund for disaster relief and disadvantaged artists. The event was inaugurated by M. Ayoub Jamali, Director General- PNCA, along with Mr. Rashid Butt, Senior Calligrapher, Mr. Mansur Rahi and Hajra Mansur, Senior Visual Artist, Ambassador (R) Salahuddin Ch., and by the artists of the twin cities. “Climate Change Challenges”, a visual Narrative on Climate Change” is an Art, Craft and Techno Exposition organized by Salahuddin Choudhry. It is curated by Iram Wani and Saima Salahuddin with a project team including Nazir Hunzai and Shaheera Mughal. “Ours is a planet of many splendors. Such a variety, such diversity, such God-gifted nature and natural habitat…… we simply owe our life to this beautiful world. We belong here, to our mother earth and we live as humanity. The planet has given us so much. We have to give it back as much as we can…..by loving it and taking care of it in response to the pressing global concern of climate change”, states Salahuddin Choudhry. This thought-provoking exhibition and exposition encompasses the collective works dedicated to igniting conversations and fostering awareness around the critical issue of environmental sustainability. “Climate change is not just an environmental issue; it’s a human issue that requires our immediate attention and collective action through the power of art, crafts and technology. The curators: Iram wani and Saima Salahuddin convey the urgency of addressing climate change challenges and its profound impact on our world.The Art Exhibition features a diverse range of artistic mediums, from paintings and sculptures to multimedia installations, each piece crafted to evoke emotions, inspire change, and provokes contemplation so that the visitors embark on a visual journey exploring the interconnectedness between humanity and nature, the consequences of environmental degradation, and the hope for a sustainable future. “We believe that art serves as a catalyst for change and can stimulate meaningful dialogue” says Iram.”This exhibition encourages us to reflect on our relationship with the planet and compels us to take proactive steps toward preserving it.”, adds Saima. The Art, Craft and Techno Exposition is open to the public from 16th November to 24th November welcoming art enthusiasts, environmental advocates, educators, policymakers, and the general public to participate in this crucial dialogue at Pakistan National Council of Arts, Islamabad.
