Peshawar : The different tribes of Pak-Afghan border Angoor Adda in South Waziristan Lower entered the twelfth days of protest in favour of their legitimate demands.The organizers of the sit-in have closed the Pak-Afghan Angoor Adda main highway for all traffic.The sit-in were attended by leaders of political parties, Ullamas, tribal elders and youths besides people of different schools of thought.The organizers said that in this modern era, thousands of families deprived of basic facilities are facing severe difficulties.The sit-in participants said that they were forced to sit-in due to the lack of attention of the government.The protesters demanded the government to make schools functional for the promotion of education in Angoor Adda, while all health centers should be activated for the convenience of patients. Angoor Adda border residences should be allowed to carry food items at the border gate.Electricity transmission, mobile network and DSL facilities should be provided.A special quota should be allocated for the disabled people affected by terrorism and employment opportunities should be provided for the people of Angoor Adda.The sit-in organizers said that the need of the hour is to provide employment opportunities for the local residents at the Angoor Adda border.TMA should start operational work in Angoor Adda bazar and NADRA Center should be sanctioned immediately.Pakistan People’s Party South Waziristan Lower General Secretary Imran Mukhlis Wazir addressed the sit-in participants and said that since the twelfth day, the poor people of Angoor Adda area of ​​Birmal Tehsil have been sitting on the road in the darkness of the night.They are demanding their legitimate rights, yet the government has not taken any practical steps. He said that the sacrifices of the residents of Angoor Adda border cannot be forgotten.They have made immense sacrifices for the country and the region, they have been forced to sit on the streets for their rights in this cold weather.Political leaders, ullamas and tribal elders who participated in the protest said that until the legitimate demands of the people of Angorad are recognized, the protest will continue.It should be noted that several days ago there were talks between the district administration and the sit-in organizers, but the talks could not be successful.The district administration officials says that they have considered the demands of the people of Angoor Adda, and are still in touch with the organizers of the protest sit-in.
