INTEGRITY ICONS- 5 CIVIL SERVANTS HONORED FOR INTEGRITY AND EXEMPLARY REFORMS IN CIVIL SERVICE
ISLAMABAD – Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Peter Emil Nielsen, Deputy Mission Head, Embassy of Denmark in Islamabad, said that we are proud of Integrity Icon movement which has set example for the civil servants. Pakistan’s 5 honest civil servants were awarded with Integrity Icon Pakistan awards during a high-profile ceremony. Senior Diplomats, civil servants, representatives of the civil society, media and youth from different universities attended this much anticipated ceremony to acknowledge and appreciate the services of 5 Integrity Icons. Dr Sanya Hameed Pasha who is currently serving as the Assistant Commissioner Sadar Zone Islamabad was honored for services for the people of the capital city. Other senior officials who received the Integrity Icons included Dr. Shaukat Hayat, Deputy Managing Director Merged Areas Education Foundation; Jameel Baloch, Deputy Commissioner, Pishin, Balochistan; Javed Sonharo Jiskani, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Larkana Range, Sindh; and Muddassir Riaz Malik, Director General, Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Punjab. The Integrity Icon is global campaign to celebrate the most honest and hardworking government officials from all over the country. The Integrity Icon campaign has completed its 8 years in Pakistan and has become a much-anticipated event in the capital city. The Accountability Lab Pakistan (ALP) received hundreds of nominations for 2023 awards, and the winners were decided after a thorough screening and review by a jury comprising of most capable and credible professionals from civil service, academia and civil society. Mr. Ali Imran, Chairman Accountability Lab Pakistan (ALP) added that it has always been the mission of Accountability Lab to identify and celebrate change makers within the civil service who are honest, accessible to public, and innovative. The campaign appreciates the change makers within civil service and celebrates them as role models for others. He said that Accountability Lab Pakistan promotes active citizens, creates responsible citizens and public accountability. Speaking on the occasion, the keynote speaker, Muhammad Rashid Mafzool Zaka, Director General Research, Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) added that officers posted in small towns have shown integrity and introduced exemplary reforms in their departments. ALP has brought their work and honesty to the limelight. He said that for Pakistan nation Quaid-e-Azam was the biggest Icon of the Icons who believed in integrity, accountability and inclusiveness.
