Islamabad. Christmas teaches respect for all religions, tolerance in society and promotion of interfaith harmony. Pakistan cannot develop until all citizens irrespective of religion and creed contribute equally to its overall development. He expressed these views while addressing the function held at the Idean Pakistan Council, Awan Quaid, to express solidarity with the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas. As the chief guest, he added that the world needs mutual tolerance and religious harmony more than ever. He specifically referred to his speeches in favor of Occupied Kashmir and Palestine during his recent visits to Norway and Saudi Arabia, saying how the aggressive armed forces are massacring innocent women and children in Kashmir and Palestine. He demanded the international powers to play an immediate and effective role to end the sufferings of Kashmiris and Palestinians. Mashal Malik said that Christmas and Quaid-e-Azam’s birthday are celebrated on the same day, so we should remember the golden words of our leader that there will be no discrimination against any religion or belief in Pakistan. He congratulated NPC executive and senior member Manzoor Masih for demonstrating mutual tolerance to Pakistanis of diverse faiths under one roof. Mian Mohammad Javed, chairman of Ideo Pakistan Council, said that the world respects the eternal sacrifices of Mashal Malik, her brave husband Yasin Malik and his family imprisoned in Kashmir. He further said that the Quaid-i-Azam in one of his speeches guaranteed the fundamental rights of the Christian community, while the long-standing Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir have become a challenge for the world powers, but no one is stopping India. Founder of International Human Rights, Dr. Khalid Silhari said that today we are united on the birthday of Quaid-e-Azam from an important platform like Iwan Quaid. Manzoor Masih, a senior member of the NPC executive committee, thanked the guests and said that the Christian community will always play an active role in health, defense, education and other fields for the stability of Pakistan. This is the shared homeland of all of us and today’s beautiful gathering is a reflection of this spirit. Christians also played a key role in Pakistan’s freedom movement, which we will always be proud of.
