RAWALPINDI : While reviewing the reconstruction work of 6th Road Metro Bus Station at Murree road Rawalpindi, the Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa has directed the Chief Engineer RDA, Muhammad Anwar Baran to immediately complete this reconstruction work. According to the spokesperson RDA, the DG RDA has said that during the incident of 9th May 2023, the protesters had caused severe damage to the 6th Road Metro Bus Station, in which the protesters entered the station premises and vandalized the station premises and set the station premises on fire. This 6th road Metro Bus Station was completely burnt down. Accordingly, the Metro Bus Stations destroyed during the May 9 incident were inspected and an inspection committee was constituted to submit the report. Based on the inspection committee report, the Punjab Mass Transit Authority had requested the Rawalpindi Development Authority to proceed deposit work for the rehabilitation of the 6th Road Metro Bus Station. The Metro Bus Station was closed for passengers after the fire. He said that with the restoration of the metro station, the passengers of the adjacent areas will be able to travel easily. More than one lakh people benefit from metro bus service daily, he said. The DG RDA, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa has directed that the work should be completed immediately so that the general public can get benefit for travelling for go from one place to another, he added.
