Islamabad : The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has informed that national electronic media strictly adhere to the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission. The directives issued by PEMRA emphasize that all licensees under its purview must comply with the code of conduct outlined by the Election Commission for the upcoming elections scheduled for February 8.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has explicitly mentioned that any breach of the code will be treated with utmost seriousness. Additionally, allegations made by one candidate against another will necessitate confirmation from both parties before any legal proceedings can be initiated. This stringent approach aims to ensure fair and transparent electoral processes, with a focus on responsible media coverage during the election period.
