Elections are part and parcel of democracy; who ever wins elections has the right to govern, NA Speaker

Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf addressed the launch of journalist Sajjad Azhar’s book ‘Rawal Raj’ as a special guest. Former Federal Minister Pervez Rasheed, prominent Urdu poet Iftikhar Arif and a large number of senior journalists participated in the event.

while congratulating Sajjad Azhar for writing a book on the comprehensive historical aspects of Potohar region .Potohar is a historical region and peculiarity t this region is that it has historical importance across the world.

The speaker further said that traditional people live in Potohar region. He said that Sajjad Azhar enlightened the history through his book. He also said that writing a book is a very difficult task, one has to read hundreds of books to write one book. He said that Sajjad Azhar has highlighted the centuries-old civilization of Rawalpindi in his book.

Later on while responding to question of journalists regarding return of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the holding of General elections, the speaker of the National Assembly said that it is appreciable that Nawaz Sharif is returning Pakistan. He said that the politics and democracy are interlinked with Elections and whoever wins should rule.

In response to another question, the speaker said that the constitution outlines that general elections be held within ninety days.On the question asked regarding the participation of Chairman PTI in the election, he said that this is dependent upon judicial decisions and law of Pakistan.
