RAWALPINDI : On the directions of the Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate RDA is taking action against the advertisements and marketing of illegal housing schemes in Rawalpindi under the PDC Act 1976 and Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021 alongwith sensitization of the public, RDA spokesman said. He said that the public is hereby informed that the owners and representatives of Ruden Enclave, Mivida City I & II, Ring Road Enclave, Dewan Sharif Accommodation and Town 21 are running their advertisements campaign in different areas of Rawalpindi city without approval, through various media platforms and showing their schemes to be located near Rawalpindi Ring Road. Whereas Rawalpindi Ring Road is an “access control” road and no private housing scheme has direct access with it. So, don’t give importance to these misleading advertisements and inquire about the legality of these schemes from the department of RDA before any investment, he said.He said that the Planning Wing RDA has also requested the FIA Cyber Crime Wing to take legal action against the illegal and misleading advertisements of these schemes to save the general public from falling a prey to them. Whereas, the cases of all the above mentioned housing schemes are under process in PHATA and are still illegal housing schemes. It is further advised to the general public in their interest to be careful in making any investment in these illegal and unauthorized schemes which are not sanctioned by RDA and PHATA. The general public is advised in their own interest to check in RDA office / website and PHATA office before investing in housing schemes. Furthermore, the general public is also advised to get information from the Rawalpindi Development Authority about the legal status of the residential schemes and plots before investing valuable capital in any private residential scheme, otherwise the RDA will not be responsible of any loss, he added.
