Islamabad; Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf stated that for lasting peace and stability in the region, the resolution of the Kashmir Issue according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council is indispensable. He added, “freedom movement cannot be suppressed by using force on innocent Kashmiris”. Expressing complete solidarity with the Kashmiri people, he reiterated Pakistan’s principled stand on the Kashmir issue and expressed determination to continue diplomatic, political and moral support to the Kashmiri people. He expressed these views on the eve of ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ which is celebrated every year on 5th February.
Moreover, Speaker NA said that the Kashmiri people have been resisting India’s usurpation of Kashmir for more than 7 decades and are sacrificing their lives for freedom. He added, “The atrocities committed by India to crush the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people in Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir shall go down in the annals of history”. Speaker NA reiterated, Pakistan has always strongly supported the right of self-determination of Kashmiris at the political, moral and diplomatic levels and want a fair and peaceful settlement of all Regional & International disputes, especially Kashmir & Palestine.
The speaker condemned the ongoing serious violations of human rights by Indian forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and urged international community to take notice of them and play an effective role in ending them. He reiterated, “permanent solution to the Kashmir issue is possible only through referendum in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as per the resolution of United Nations”.
Moreover, Speaker NA urged International Community to ensure the implementation of the UN Resolutions on Kashmir Issue and to put pressure on India to end the use of unwarranted force in Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir.
“Pakistan seeks to play its role in achieving peaceful and sustainable solutions to all conflicts in the world”, stated Speaker NA, while lamenting over the massive loss of innocent Palestinian lives due to acts of terrorism & serious violations of human rights committed by Israeli Occupation Forces in Palestine from the past 5 months. He further stated that Israeli brutality and massacre of innocent children and civilians in Palestine is against the modern norms of the world. Speaker NA emphasized on the fact that without a peaceful solution to the issue of Kashmir and Palestine, it is impossible to establish lasting peace in the world. Speaker NA stated that Pakistan shall absolutely and firmly continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri and Palestinian people on all International Platforums.
