ISLAMABAD: Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan  Reza Amiri Moghadam has said thatlast year, the trade value between Pakistan and Iran exceeded 2.5 billion dollars,and the two countries aim to reach the figure of 5 billion dollars. Reza AmiriMoghadam congratulated the people andthe Government of Pakistan on the successful holding of the nationwide election. We hope that the new government in Pakistan will bring more progress andprosperity to the people of Pakistan, hesaid On the occasion of the 45th anniversaryof the Glorious Victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and the National Day a ceremony was held at the local hotel ofIslamabad.

The ceremony was hosted byIranian Ambassador to Pakistan RezaAmiri Moghadam and his Spouse. Caretaker Foreign minister Jalil Abbas Jilani,Caretaker Minister for Information andBroadcasting Murtaza Solangi, AllamaSajid Naqvi, Governor Sindh MuhammadKamran Khan Tessori, son of laterMaulana Samiul Haq, Hamidul Haq,Deputy Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami PakistanLiaqat Baloch, SAPM Hafiz Tahir Mah-mood Ashrafi, Pir Naqeebur Rehman, civil and military high officials, diplomats of other countries and a large number of people belonging to different walks of life attended the ceremony. The cake was also cut on the occasion. The children of Iran and Pakistan presented the national anthems of both countries.While addressing the ceremony, Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam said “I would like to express my sincere appreciation for giving us the honor of attending this ceremony on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution and the NationalDay of Iran”. “You are most welcome. Iwould like to extend my sincere gratitude to all of you for attending this ceremony”.Reza Amiri Moghadam said that it is an honor to celebrate this occasion in the friendly, brotherly, and neighbourly country of Pakistan. The existence of numerous historical, geographical, ethnic, linguistic cultural, and religiouscommonalities and links has created deep and unbreakable relations between Iran and Pakistan. Iran was the first country to recognize the independent Pakistan. Onthe other hand, Pakistan was the first country to recognize the Islamic Republic of Iran after the victory of the revolution.The ties between the two countries have been established in such a way that there has been no territorial and border dispute between the two, and now we have strong relations in various fields, he said.Reza Amiri Moghadam said that having been built upon such solid foundations and given Iran’s foreign policy to accord priority to neighbors, ephemeral incidents can never fluctuate the relations between the two countries. Reza Amiri Moghadamsaid that our two countries have closeviewpoints on many regional, interna-tional, and Islamic world issues, andclosely cooperate and mutually support each other in the regional and interna tional organizations and forums.

Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has emphasized the importance of promoting principles of friendship, cooperation, and solidarity between Pakistan and Iran.He made these remarks while addressing a reception hosted by the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.The Foreign Minister extended congratulations to the people and the Government of Iran on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
