Missing kids were found by Jhelum Police and handed over custody, FIA
Islamabad : A ten year old girl Sara Sharif was murdered in UK. Her father namely Urfan Sharif, step mother Beinash Batool, and Uncle Faisal Shahzad Malik fled from UK to Pakistan on 09.08.2023 along with kids Norman Sharif, Hannah Sharif, Bisma Sharif, Muhammad Sharif, and Azlan Sharif.
NCB-INTERPOL Manchester (UK) approached to NCB-INTERPOL Islamabad for search and locate the accused persons as well as (05) Missing Minors. INTERPOL Manchester issued Blue notices against the accused and Yellow notices in respect of the minors and shared with NCB- INTERPOL Islamabad.
The information was immediately shared with Punjab Police (Jhelum District) by NCB-INTERPOL Islamabad-FIA with the request to trace the offenders and kids and ensure kids safety. Missing kids were found by Jhelum Police and handed over custody of kids to the Child Protection Bureau on court orders.
As police was probing the case, accused persons, not finding any relief in Pakistan, fled from Pakistan towards UK. Urfan Sharif, his wife Beinash Batool, and his brother Faisal Malik, were arrested at Gatwick Airport at about 19:45 BST on 13.09.2023.
The accused are now under the custody of UK police authorities for further investigation of the case.
The arrest became possible only because of efforts of NCB-INTERPOL Islamabad and Punjab Police (Jhelum District). NCB-INTERPOL Islamabad shared timely information with the UK side, which led to arrest of the accused.
