Islamabad, Vice Chancellor, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood while addressing the meeting of Faculty of Social Sciences yesterday, said that the university will send the degrees automatically to the admitted students from autumn semester 2024. There will be no need to apply degree separately. He said that there is special focus on improving the matters of examinations and admissions. Vice Chancellor directed the controller of examinations to clear the pending cases of degrees and issue the degrees as soon as possible. Dr. Nasir further said that facilities for the students will be improved so that the confidence of students in AIOU will increase and the dropout rate will be minimized.
Dr. Nasir a added that faculty members are playing an important role due to which our institution is among the best institutions of Pakistan. He said that we are all engaged in our respective jurisdictions for the betterment of the students and the institution. Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir gave a detailed briefing about his faculty. He gave various suggestions to increase the number of admissions. He further said that we need to create more clusters and introduce certificate courses. The faculty members pointed out a few problems to which the Vice Chancellor said that by improving the services, all these problems will automatically disappear.
