The occasion of Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s 177th birth anniversary
Islamabad : Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah have said that Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the poet of the East, was a great poet and thinker who kindled the spirit of freedom in the Muslims of the subcontinent through his poetry and thoughts. They said that Allama Iqbal’s poetry and ideas are still a beacon of hope for the Muslim Ummah, inspiring guidance to grapple with present challenges.They expressed these views in their separate messages on the occasion of Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s 177th birth anniversary, which is celebrated with enthusiasm and respect across the country on April 21 every year.The Speaker said that Allama Muhammad Iqbal was the visionary thinker of Pakistan who presented the concept of an independent Muslim state for the Muslims of the subcontinent, which was later realized in the form of creation of Pakistan. He also reminded that Allama Muhammad Iqbal persuaded Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to take over the leadership of the Muslim freedom movement of the sub-continent, and thanks to his leadership ability, the dream of an independent Muslim state was realized.The Speaker said that the Muslim Ummah is currently passing through a difficult period, with Muslims in Palestine and Kashmir suffering from cruelty and brutality. He added,” Allama Iqbal’s teachings offer vision of a more just and harmonious society, where Muslims can live with dignity and respect.”The Speaker said that Allama Iqbal’s concept of Islamic society is universal and beyond the limitations of geography and nationality. He always emphasized unity among Muslims and believed that there is no room for prejudice and extremism. He wanted to establish a peaceful and moderate society in which justice and equal rights are provided without discrimination of caste and religion.The Speaker said that Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s efforts to unite the Muslim Ummah, especially the Muslims of the sub-continent, will always be remembered in annals of history .On this occasion,Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah said that Allama Iqbal was the thinker of Pakistan, and his poetry is still a torchbearer for the young generation. He underscored, “His ideas continue to inspire and motivate us to work towards a brighter future for Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah.”
