Pakistan Human Resource Network with Rural Development Foundation Leads Successful Tree Plantation Drive
Islamabad : Brigadier Aslam Khan emphasized the importance of tree plantation, saying, “Trees are the lungs of our planet, and it’s our responsibility to protect them. Let’s join hands to make Pakistan greener and healthier.”
President of PHRN, Maria Rafique, stressed the need for check and balance on the growth of these plants, saying, “Planting trees is just the first step. We need to ensure their survival and growth by regularly monitoring and maintaining them. This will guarantee the long-term benefits of our efforts.”
Pakistan Human Resource Network (PHRN), in collaboration with Rural Development Foundation (RDF) and supported by Capital Development Authority (CDA), successfully organized the Azadi Plantation Drive, a tree plantation drive marking the 77th Independence Day of Pakistan.
The event was successfully organized by Mughiza Imtiaz, Secretary General of PHRN, who played a key role in bringing together PHRN, RDF, and CDA to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship.
The event brought together 25 participants and 10 volunteers who planted 60 trees, marking a significant step towards a greener and more sustainable Pakistan.
The tree plantation drive was graced by esteemed guests, including Mr. Younas from Motorway Police, Brigadier Aslam Khan from RDF, Ijaz ul Hassan from CDA, Zil Ur Rehman, Director RDF, and Ms. Maria Rafique, President of PHRN.
Zil Ur Rehman, Director RDF, distributed green shirts to the participants with a slogan of “Climate Justice and Independence” to motivate and promote the cause. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to address environmental challenges and promote sustainability.
Mughiza Imtiaz, Secretary General of PHRN, said, “According to a recent survey, every individual in Pakistan needs at least 10-15 plants to maintain a healthy environment. We aim to add one plant per individual by ourselves to make a significant impact. We encourage everyone to join us in this initiative and take responsibility for their environment.”
After the plantation, a Dua was held, seeking blessings for the success of the initiative and the well-being of the environment.
As a token of appreciation, souvenirs were distributed by Motorway Police to the participants, volunteers, and supporting teams.
“The credit for this successful event goes to Mughiza Imtiaz, Secretary General of PHRN, who worked tirelessly to make it happen,” said Ms. Maria Rafique, President of PHRN. “We are grateful for her dedication and commitment to our cause.”
