A National Health App has been launched in Islamabad

Minister for National Health Services, Dr. Nadeem Jan, has launched the National Health Card App in Islamabad. This app is designed to empower individuals to better manage their hospital visits and gather feedback from patients regarding the services they receive.

The app, developed in collaboration with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), is part of efforts to innovate the health insurance scheme in Pakistan. The government is working towards establishing a universal health insurance scheme after consulting with the provinces. Additionally, plans are in place to include outpatient department (OPD) services in the health insurance scheme. While these services will be free for the poorest individuals, those who can afford it will be required to make modest co-payments.

Dr. Nadeem Jan emphasized that the caretaker government is committed to improving the quality of public healthcare services to restore public confidence in the healthcare system. Furthermore, Pakistan will host a two-day global health security summit on December 1, with the aim of collectively addressing pandemics and global health security challenges.
