SNGPL Thwarts Gas Theft Attempt in Bama Town, Islamabad

Islamabad – Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) achieved a significant victory against gas theft in Bama Town by successfully dismantling an illegal pipeline. A spokesperson for SNGPL revealed that the SNGPL Task Force in Islamabad conducted a highly successful raid in Bama Town, effectively preventing the establishment of an unlawful gas network.

The underground illegal pipeline, spanning over an astonishing 300 meters, was swiftly detected and removed before it could link up with the official distribution network, thereby safeguarding the department from potential irreparable damage. This swift action was prompted by reports of gas theft in the federal area and its adjacent regions.

The operation was initiated on the directives of the General Manager of SNGPL, Azhar Rashid Sheikh, who recognized the urgency of addressing gas theft issues. During the operation, Task Force personnel not only disconnected illegal gas meters but also initiated legal proceedings against residential consumers found engaging in commercial use of gas connections.

These operations were carried out across various localities, including Tarlai, Dhok Paracha, Tarnol, and New Town Attock, illustrating SNGPL’s commitment to curbing gas theft and ensuring the responsible and lawful use of this vital resource.

SNGPL remains resolute in its mission to protect the integrity of the gas distribution network and prevent illegal activities that can harm the interests of both the company and the public it serves.
