Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has arrived in Shusha, Azerbaijan, for the 27th Meeting of the Council of Ministers (COM) of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). During this event, Foreign Minister Jilani will address the Council of Ministers and engage in bilateral meetings with fellow ministers from member states and other esteemed dignitaries.
The primary focus of the 27th COM will be on advancing sustainable economic development within the ECO region through enhanced trade and economic cooperation. Additionally, discussions will encompass mutual support in various areas, including social, cultural, technical, and scientific fields. The central theme for this year’s event is “Green Transition and Interconnectivity.”
The Council of Ministers, functioning as the policy-making body of the ECO, is responsible for approving decisions and the annual work plan of the Organization. Pakistan, as a founding member, remains firmly committed to the ECO’s goals and objectives, actively participating in major ECO initiatives and agreements such as the ECO Trade Agreement (ECOTA) and the ECO Transit Transport Framework Agreement (ECOTTFA), as confirmed by the spokesperson
