PML-N Leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Returns to Pakistan After Four-Year UK Stay

On October 21, 2023, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, has made his long-awaited return to Pakistan after spending four years in the United Kingdom. Sharif arrived in Islamabad via a chartered flight from Dubai.

Before embarking on his journey home, Nawaz Sharif obtained protective bail from the Islamabad High Court and completed necessary legal formalities, including biometrics. Subsequently, he departed for Lahore from Islamabad, where he addressed a sizable crowd at the historic Minar-e-Pakistan ground.

It’s worth noting that on July 28, 2017, Nawaz Sharif resigned from the office of Prime Minister and faced imprisonment on various charges. Later, he was granted permission to travel abroad for medical treatment.
